10/28/08: We have added a new "Blog" link to the website. From now on, the "News" page will list newsworthy items, while all other thoughts from Chris, fan comments, and other assorted stories will be listed on the "Blog."

9/2/08: A very nice review of "Breakfast In The Sunroom" was featured in the San Diego acoustic music staple San Diego Troubadour (September 2008 issue). Thanks to Mike Alvarez for the very kind words. We couldn't agree more.

8/15/08: A lot has been going on musically with Chris over the last few months. We Five has been playing regularly, and Chris has been working on a follow up to "Breakfast In The Sunroom" with Guitarist Akira Harrison, and singer / percussionist Shane Schupbach. Keep an eye out for some acoustic shows in your area.

3/14/08: It was a wild night at the Coffee Gallery Backstage! The store front coffee house and backstage had both been rented out for a location shoot for the t.v. show "The Office." We Five, had a gig at 8:00 P.M., but could not start setting up until 6:00P.M. due to all of the t.v. taping equipment and actors being moved in and out. What looked like a train wreck evening on paper turned out to be a fantastic night of funny stories and music!!! "Catch The Wind" was magical; and, the audience also heard the We Five debut of Jessica Burgan!!! She was a featured vocalist of the song "Someday Soon" and finished out the show with the band on keyboard! Great job Jess!

2/16/07: It was quite a week with the guitar. Chris played with Jake Shimabukuro (while my ukulele gently weeps) on Friday February 2nd and then finished off the week by playing with Laurence Juber on February 8th. Videos with Jake and Laurence will be seen soon on YouTube or on the myspace

1/25/07: www.myspace.com/chrisburgan is up and running.
Check out the "Run To Mama" Video directed by Todd Banhazl via YouTube...

1/17/07: Tracks for the new CD are going well. The new collection of songs will focus on instrmental acoustic guitar and acoustic singer / songwriter material as heard at recent solo performances.

10/13/06: Sometimes really cool random things happen while playing a gig. One of those special moments occurred at the very end of Chris' final set at Starbucks Coffee tonight. During the outro solo of "Into Wine" a thunder cloud let loose of a torrid lighting Barrage. Chris was sitting in front of a very large plate glass window. As he tore into the closing riffs, the lightning appeared to flash all around him. Chris later said that he thought all the dropped jaws in the audience were for him. Sure they were buddy.

9/16/06: We had a great time with Oz Fox of Stryper and Debbie and Jerry Burgan of We Five as they sat in at the Home Brew performance in San Dimas, CA last night. If you were not there...

9/10/06: We Five will be appearing on PBS in November. All the details are not in. However keep your ears and eyes open for new information and we will get it to you as soon as we know.

8/18/06: So much to talk about. It has been a very busy summer of writing, performing and recording. Beyond meeting with so many of you at the venues, the biggest news has been signing on with Heartsong Management to handle the booking of appearances. The tracks for the new CD sound fantastic! As work continues on finishing the new recordings, you can check out many of the tracks at a venue near you (hopefully). -Chris

1/14/06: Ran into rock guitar legend Oz Fox of Stryper the other day. I had not seen him in some 15 years (I used to paint his guitars while at Jackson / Charvel back in the 1980's). Well, you could say there was a lot to catch up on. After reminiscing over coffee with Oz and his friend Michael Durkin, we decided it would be fun to surprise Linda Geleris (I was sharing the bill with her the following night) with a spontaneous jam at Borders Books in Chino. What played out was a 2 hour guitar fest including off the cuffs of some Stryper tunes including "Lady" and "You Know What To Do", Led Zeppelin's "The Rain Song" and "Over The Hills And Far Away", some Buck Owens and Eagles standards and, of course, some tunes from Love, Hope, Faith and Linda's upcoming release. What can I say... Sometimes the magic just happens. If you missed it...

12/15/05: Congrats to Anna Nalick for earning her 1st Gold Record!!! We are very proud of you; and, what you have done with "Wreck of the day"

11/10/05: Great Job! Todd Banhazl's music video for "Run To Mama" off of Love, Hope, Faith was a finalist in the 2005 CSU Media Arts Festival. (Finishing 4th out of 200 entries)

11/5/05: Congratulations to Chris for being awarded an ASCAPLUS Award in the Jazz -- Popular Division! ASCAPLUS Awards are determined annually by a panel of distinguished music experts who are neither members, nor employees of ASCAP, and are completely independent in their Award adjudication. Awards are based on panel review of recent activity of writer applicants. Each applicant is considered on merit and in the context of all others applying. ASCAPLUS is not a contest or competition involving the critical evaluation of any specific work or works. The primary basis for panel determinations is the activity generated by each member's catalog, with emphasis on recent performances.

9/15/05: We had a blast with WE FIVE in San Francisco at USF's 150th B-Day bash!!! The event was extra special because it re-united Bob Jones (the original 12 string guitarist for WE FIVE) with Jerry Burgan and the gang for two nights of a rockin' good time!!! Since the band had it's beginnings at USF the event brought in large alumni crowds to help ring in the event. It was great having Bob and Chris split time between drums and guitars. (Bob was the drummer for Michael Bloomfield after leaving the Five... and Chris grew up in Bob's shadow... so drums were a must).

7/17/05: Thanks to Choppers California Grill for the great memories. We had a blast being in residence. Best of luck

7/15/05: Thanks to those who have been able to come out and support We Five. It has been a great summer of concerts and music.

3/17/05: CONGRATULATIONS LAURENCE JUBER!!!!"Henry Mancini: Pink Guitar" wins Grammy for Best Pop Instrumental Album!  Laurence (who's searing guitar work can be heard on "Love, Hope, Faith") was awarded a coveted Grammy award at the music ceremonies for his contribution to the compilation album, "Henry Mancini: Pink Guitar" on Solid Air Records. The award was in the Pop Instrumental Album of the Year category.  The album leads off with LJ's solo arrangement of "The Pink Panther Theme".

10/28/04:  It's official... The Burgan kids will be forming an acutal band together. Keep an eye open... and ears peeled...for (name to be decided on soon) Jessica, Jeremy and Chris putting out the acoustic rock for ya! We've started rehersing for some future gigs; and, the sound is really fun!!! Check it out when we make it your way.

10/10/04:  I was recently interviewed by Journey guitarist - Neal Schon's web site concerning the artwork logo I created for Schon Guitars back in the 1980's (in my days working as a graphic artist for Jackson Guitars). It was a nice chat with Adriana Sanchez. If you have a couple seconds, give it a read.

9/15/04: Anna Nalick has her debut CD Wreck Of The Day due out this month. Congratulations Anna. We re proud to know that our directed tutelage has helped pave the way to your success.

8/23/04:  We just came home from meetings in Nashville. A very special thanks to Tim Gaines of Stryper, his wife Irene Kelly, and Brian Emmel for showing us the town. It isn't called Music City for nothing. What a blast!

8/7/04:  Love Hope Faith is going to be featured heavily on Hans Ingebretsen's morning show on 103.1 KSCU Sunday, August 15th in the 8:00 - 9:00 A.M. hour! To Listen Online

8/6/04:  Wow! Where to start? It has been quite a summer of concerts, airplay and rock n roll moments. First off, many thanks to Eric Smith (the stadium voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers). "Run To Mama" has been getting heavy rotation at Dodger Stadium during the ball games! Keep an ear out while at the game, or on TV if they are home. If that isn't enough for you, "Love Walks In The Room" has begun getting airplay nation wide on college radio. In addition, we had a surprise opening slot for Dennis Quaid and the Sharks at Harvelle's in Long Beach (as in we didn't know) and to top it off... we've just finished the first video for the CD. "Run To Mama" has a very edgy look of reality. Keep an eye posted to the web site and it will get uploaded soon. Take Care, Chris

5/25/04:  We (Chris, Jeremy Burgan, Danny Gorden and Shane Fontayne)  had a great time playing at Kulak's Woodshed in North Hollywood!  What a great venue.  A world wide live webcast, instant e-mail interaction with viewers / artists, and an intimate core audience all made for a great experience.  To top it off... it's all fan supported.  Great job Paul!

4/8/04:  "Love, Hope, Faith" is for sale now at CD Baby

4/1/04:  "Love, Hope Faith" is in, and the responses have been great! Thanks for all of the support over the last couple of months. Hopefully we will be playing it live for you soon.

3/4/04:  It's happened again. Chris' other grandpa Woody "Doc" Graf passed away today. It has been a very trying time in the Burgan and Graf homes. Along with Debbie and Jerry Burgan, it was Doc (Along with Kathleen) who instilled the love of music into Chris. In an ironic twist of time, the new CD "Love, Hope, Faith" arrived the day of the funeral. Your prayers are much appreciated.

2/18/04:  Due to the passing away of my grandfather Bill Burgan on the 13th, I will not be playing at the Circle of Songs showcase on the 19th in Hollywood.  The memorial service will be held that night, and I will be spending it with family.  He was an inspirational man... Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

2/8/04:  Thanks to everyone who came out to the CD release party!!! We had a rockin' time...  and, would like to thank all of you who made the night so memorable for us!  The limited release CD's must have made it into a few players.  We could not have been prepared for the room to already be singing all the songs and as if you had known them for years!!!  Thanks again...it really meant a lot to us.  I would also like to give a special thanks to Tad and Melissa for getting the new shirts to the show on time for people to pick up... I wish the CD manufacturer could have provided the same kind of service.  For those who placed pre-orders... you will get them as soon as we do!!!  We'll see you soon.

1/17/04: The new CD is done... and in production!  The CD release party will be held Feb. 6 @ Sweet Daddy’s Coffee Lounge, in Glendora, California.  Hopefully we will see you there.

1/5/04:  G'day mates,  Wow... Australia!  We had a great time running around Melbourne and it's surrounding coastal areas.  A very special thanks to Tim Laupham and Kari Cummings.  In addition to playing music and soaking in the local sun and sounds, we learned some of the subtleties of Cricket (thanks Adam and Craig).  Glenda and Debbie showed us the Aussie way to relax (combined with a good helping of Victoria Bitter).  Hopefully we will be back soon!  Good on you OZ!

9/1/02:    It's been a busy summer!  The new CD is sounding great.  The goal right now is simply to wind up recording (which of course never seems to be finished).  There are currently about 20 songs to sift through.  Many of the songs are rockin'.... and many mellow.  So, if you are a fan, it should fill the need for some Burgan music!

6/2/02:    We had a great time playing the Circle of Songs singer / songwriter showcase at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood!  A big thank you to Jenna, James, Paul and Jon.... and of course thanks to those of you who came out in support of the night!  Keep and ear open for other shows there... it was a blast!
